Management Competence

Planning and managing work processes, launching and carrying out projects, facilitating meetings and getting to a result, organising your own workday in a resource-oriented and effective way – all these tasks require high communication skills and the ability to optimise, structure and work in a target-oriented way. This is true not only for executives or people responsible for projects, but every employee within an organisation. We offer training in:

  • Setting you up to win: Communication, Conflict Management and Customer Service skills
  • Being great with groups: Presentation and Facilitation skills
  • Smooth sailing in rough waters: Time and Project management
  • Navigating from your core: Personal Development in different ‘worlds’

There is a well-known quote “if you do not know where you’re going, you will end up somewhere else”. We apply this principle and offer our seminar participants the opportunity to learn to manage themselves and projects more effectively and successfully – developing and enhancing their management skills.

Setting you up to win

Communication skills: Creating conscious and effective communication

Our communication shapes our relationships and influences how others perceive us and relate to us! In this training, we raise awareness of individual communication patterns and reflect upon one’s own behaviour in daily work life. We use practical exercises and cases from everyday work in order to practise what has been learned. We train and develop individual communication abilities further – this has proven to be beneficial for people’s work and private life, and to increase people’s overall confidence.

Customer service: Create a professional client care platform for your company

Customer service is at the core of every business. ‘Customers’ are superiors, colleagues, suppliers, business stakeholders AND clients. In our customer service seminars, we start by raising awareness that customer service does not end when the client’s door closes. We focus on professional ways of dealing with different ‘customers’, how to engage, empathise, and take responsibility for one’s work. Customer service is about leaving others with a sense of ‘having had a great experience’, regardless of what it was that they required. This requires emotional and professional skill, but most importantly, the wish and attitude to really want to make a difference.

Conflict management: Dealing with conflicts responsibly and proactively

Conflicts are a part of human life, in private as well as work situations. Conflict can be draining, robbing people of energy, which can negatively influence work effectiveness. Because many people do not know how to deal with conflict, they avoid it altogether – even if this entails personal losses. In this seminar, we look at conflicts from a different angle: as opportunities to resolve and advance current situations and relationships. We work on common conflict resolution strategies as well as personal conflict patterns and dynamics. Basis for all training work are situations from the participants’ everyday life.

Being great with groups

Facilitation skills: Setting up and facilitating successful meetings

In many careers, meetings are an integral part of everyday work. But often people do not use the full potential that lies in this form of collaboration. Well-facilitated meetings are goal-orientated and well-structured. The facilitator has an important function in the preparation, leading and post-processing of a meeting. The facilitation of the meeting greatly influences the participation and therefore the success of the meeting. In this training, participants learn techniques and tools of facilitation, and have an opportunity to directly apply these in experiential exercises.

Presentation skills: Holding clear and noteworthy presentations

What is it that makes a presentation “note-worthy”? Why do we remember some people and topics better, and others less? How can one present confidently, even in front of more experienced colleagues and managers? These are questions we look at in this training, in which participants advance their presentation skills mainly by practising and receiving feedback on specific presentation aspects. The effects and benefits of different presentation media are part of this training. We also look at how to develop one’s own presentation style, and how to apply it in an effective and target-group oriented way.

Smooth sailing in rough waters

Time and self management: organising oneself actively and creatively

The way we handle our time and organise our daily work has an enormous influence on our effectiveness as well as our well-being. There are widespread approaches, techniques and suggestions regarding time and self-management. Some of these will be covered in detail – but always with the focus on ‘what is most suited to myself and my environment‘? We work with personal examples from everyday life, and use these as a basis for individual goal-setting regarding effective self-organisation.

Project management: Setting up and managing projects effectively

The management of projects as well as working as part of a project team requires a high level of self organisation, coordination and team work. This is a challenge for many, especially employees who have not been in the organisation for a very long time. Therefore, we do not only work on the basic techniques of project management in this training, but also raise awareness for personal interaction and individual ‘pitfalls’ when working on projects. We mediate skills that leave participants competent, confident and with the required calmness when dealing with projects.

Navigating from your core

Personal navigation in my environment: navigating authentically different ‘worlds’

It is not always easy to find one’s place within an organisation, and to develop it further in a confident manner – especially in times of permanent change. This is especially relevant for young or new employees, but also applies to people who would like to look at and reflect on their ‘position‘ from a distance. With this training, we offer employees an opportunity to gain clarity and confidence in their work life. This training is especially suited for rounding off a training series – it is a perfect chance to reflect on what has been learned, and on where to go and grow from there…
